>> Investigations are ongoing after six people were killed when a sea plane crashed into a river on Sydney on Sunday. Police say the plane was returning five passengers from a wine and dine experience in the city's north to Rose Bay when it crashed, sinking immediately. The cause of the crash isn't yet known, nor the identities of the five passengers on board.
The pilot was the sixth victim, but has not yet been named.>> I can confirm the six people on the plane are deceased. Police are in the process of recovering the bodies from the plane. We currently have three bodies here at Appletree Wharf, and in the process of recovering the bodies of the other three people.
>> Investigators are speaking with witnesses who were in boats in the river on what is the one of the waterway's busiest days of the year, ahead of the city's harbor-centered New Year's Eve celebrations.>> I saw people sitting in the plane, but I only saw in the front part.
I didn't see anything else, and I seen the pilot.>> The aircraft was being operated by the city's major tourism operator, Sydney Sea Planes
