>> Following six days of anti-government protests, the show of support Wednesday on the streets of Iran. These pictures from state TV show thousands of marches rallying in favor of the government in several Iranian cities. Waving flags and pictures of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. It's a welcome scene for the country's leaders caught off guard by the largest protest in nearly a decade.

A bold challenge to Iran's established order continued into Tuesday night with postings and video footage on social media showing riot police deploying in force in several cities. Protest remains scattered across the country. Now as earlier, Khamenei accused Iran's foes of fomenting the unrest. At first about economic hardships, the protests have taken a rep political dimension, with the growing number of young people calling on the leader to step down.

Over 20 people have been killed during the unrest, including two members of the security forces while more than 450 protesters have been arrested in the capital Tehran in recent days. Pro-government marchers chanting that the rioters should be executed.
