>> The State Department on Thursday said the United States will cut almost all security aid to Pakistan until it confronts the terrorist networks operating within it's borders.>> Until the Pakistani government takes decisive action against groups, including the Afghan Taliban and the Haqqani network. We consider them to be destabilizing the region and also targeting US personnel.
>> Spokesperson Heather Nauert did not provide an exact dollar figure for the aid suspension, but said the US would be freezing military equipment deliveries.>> Earlier this week, the US Ambassador to the United Nations also announced Washington would withhold $255 million in assistance to Pakistan and accused the country of playing a double game in the war on terror.
>> They work with us at times, and they also harbor the terrorists that attack our troops in Afghanistan. That game is not acceptable to this administration.>> And in his first tweet of 2018, Trump also attack the long time US allies saying the US quote has foolishly given Pakistan more than $33 billion in aid over the last 15 years, and they have given us nothing but lies and deceit, thinking of our leaders as fools.
Earlier on Thursday, the State Department also placed Pakistan on a watch list for severe violations of religious freedom.
