>> An Army disciplinary board on Friday sentencing Chelsea Manning to at least seven days of solitary confinement, as punishment for an attempted suicide. The US Army Private is serving a 35 year sentence for handing over reams of classified information to WikiLeaks in 2013. In a statement, Manning said, quote, I am feeling hurt, I am feeling lonely, I am embarrassed by the decision.
Chelsea Manning, known as Bradley Manning when charged, saying, her attempted suicide back in July, came after years of being denied gender reassignment surgery in prison. Something the government overturned just last week after public protest and a five day hunger strike by the soldier. Manning is currently being held in all male penitentiary.
No date has been set for the confinement, according to Manning, who says, she has 15 days to appeal the decision.
