>> Deeper trouble for Mitsubishi Motors. The Japanese car maker say Wednesday that more models could have suspect fuel economy figures. Last month it said just four mini vehicles were involved. Now the company says it is examining the data on several more models.>> According to the investigation results, there are suspicions regarding nine other models currently on the market, along with other models no longer on the market, are being subject to improper calculations.
The news from Mitsubishi comes after last year's revelations from VW, the German carmaker, admitting it used so called defeater devices to cheat on the US emissions tests. It's setting aside €16 billion to cover the costs of the scandal including fines and recalls. Now analysts want to know what the financial impact will be for Mitsubishi, one of Japan's smaller car companies.
The firm says it has the resources to cope whatever the final bill may be.
