>> President Donald Trump capped an epic Sunday tweet storm in which he rails against the Muller probe by announcing he will ask the Justice Department to investigate whether his 2016 campaign was spied on while his predecessor, Barack Obama was in office. Writing, quote, I hereby demand, and will do so officially tomorrow, that the Department of Justice look into whether or not the FBI/DOJ infiltrated or surveilled the Trump Campaign for Political Purposes.
And if any such demands or requests were made by people within the Obama Administration. Trump earlier repeated that special counsel Robert Mueller's probe into whether his campaign colluded with Russia was politically motivated. And that his Democratic opponent, Hillary Clinton, was not given the same level of scrutiny. Trump raised eyebrows last year just after taking office, when he claimed that Obama's administration had tapped the phones at Trump Tower during the campaign.
But he has never produced any evidence to back up those claims. Separately on Sunday, President Trump's lawyer Rudy Giuliani told multiple news outlets that the special counsel team told him they expect to conclude their investigation into whether the president tried to obstruct the Russia Probe by September 1st.
