>> Disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein is expected to turn himself into to the NYPD Friday on charges of sexual misconduct, a source tells Reuters. Following a month-long investigation, including by the Manhattan district attorney's office. A lawyer for Weinstein declined to comment. Over 70 women have accused the co-founder of Miramax and the Weinstein Company with sexual misconduct, including rape.
Actor Ashley Judd last month sued Weinstein, saying he cost her a part in the Lord of the Rings after she rejected his sexual advances, charges that Weinstein has denied. Other prominent actors who have publicly accused Weinstein of sexual misconduct include Uma Thurman and Selma Hayek. Weinstein has denied having non-consensual sex with anyone.
The scope and detail of allegations against him gave rise to the Me Too movement, in which hundreds of women have publicly accused powerful men in business, government, and entertainment.
