>> Let me be very clear, there is no excuse for this alleged behavior.>> Long time talk show host Charlie Rose fired from CBS News, Tuesday, after eight women came forward to accuse the 75 year old of sexual harassment. In a statement CBS said, quote, a short time ago we terminated Charlie Rose's employment with CBS News, effectively immediately.

This followed the revelation yesterday of extremely disturbing and intolerable behavior said to have revolved around his PBS program. A day earlier Rose was suspended by CBS as well as PBS and Bloomberg. Following a Washington Post report in which eight women allege Rose made unwanted sexual advances. Including claims he walked around the nude and groped them.

Reuters could not independently verify the accounts of the women.>> I have to say, Nora, I really am still reeling.>> Rose had been a cohost of CBS This Morning and a reporter for 60 Minutes. PBS and Bloomberg which broadcast the Charlie Rose show. Also said they were terminating their relationship with Rose, and cancelling distribution of its programs.

Rose in a statement apologized for what he called inappropriate behavior, but said didn't believe all the allegations against him were accurate. The Post says it carried out multiple interviews with women who were either employees or aspired to work for Rose from the late 1990s to as recently as 2011.

It said the women were aged between 21 and 37 at the time of the alleged encounters, and that their stories had quote striking commonalities.>> He doesn't get a pass because I can't stop thinking about the anguish of these women.
