>> Former national security advisor, Michael Flynn, pleaded guilty for lying to the FBI Friday about his contacts with Russia's ambassador to the United States. In a statement Friday, Flynn said he's now cooperating with special counsel Robert Muller's investigation into Russia's meddling in the 2016 race whether Trump officials colluded with the Kremlin.
Flynn is a central figure in the federal investigation, it was reported last week that his lawyers stopped communicating with President Trump's lawyers, signaling cooperation with Muller's team. According to the filing, Flynn falsely told FBI officials that in December 2016, he did not ask Russia's ambassador to the US to refrain from escalating tensions after Washington imposed sanctions on Moscow.

There are various things, various ways this could go, and this is not a good development for Donald Trump>> White House Attorney Ty Cobb brushed off the news saying that quote, nothing about the guilty plea or the charge implicates anyone other than Mr. Flynn. The retired Army general was fired from his post in February, after revelations he had mislead Vice President Mike Pence about his conversations with the ambassador.
