>> Donald Trump on Tuesday igniting a new battle with fellow top Republicans, Paul Ryan and John McCain. Trump telling the Washington Post he is quote, not quite there yet in supporting Ryan over arch-foe Paul Nehlen in Tuesday's primary election in Wisconsin. Trump also refusing to back McCain in his own Senate primary battle in Arizona.
Trump's shot against Ryan and McCain, coming after they and other Republicans refused to back Trump's attacks on the Muslim parents of a US soldier killed in Iraq. On Monday, Trump thanked Nehlen on Twitter for defending him in the escalating feud with Khizr and Ghazala Khan. Campaign reporter, John Whitesides.
>> Ryan's primary opponent, Paul Nehlen, a businessman in Wisconsin, had put up a lot of material on his website backing Trump and Trump sent a not-so-subtle signal that he was liking where Ryan's primary opponent was more than he was liking where Ryan was on this issue.>> Ryan's campaign responding in a statement that the House Speaker has never asked for Trump's endorsement and is confident in a victory next week.
>> Paul Ryan has had 18 years to fix this border, he's failed.>> Nehlen has conspicuously embraced Trump's message of building a wall on the border with Mexico and dumping global trade deals, positions Ryan, McCain and many other Republicans reject.
