>> She's out.>> Yeah.>> Melania Trump hitting back Thursday at questions swirling over her immigration history to the United States. The new site Politico raising fresh questions after racy photos of the third Mrs. Trump Trump surfaced in the New York Post. Both Melania and Donald Trump had said she came to the US from Slovenia to work as a model in 1996.
But the nude photo shoot puts Melania in New York in 1995, suggesting she may have been in the country working without a visa. Melania posting a statement to Twitter Thursday saying, let me set the record straight. I have at all times been in full compliance with the immigration laws of this country, period.
But if Mrs. Trump misrepresented her time in the US in any way when she later applied for her green card, that could cause legal problems for her today. And the new timeline compounds already outstanding questions about her immigration, including who sponsored her for her green card, which she says she applied for and received in 2001, four years before she married Trump.
For Melania, the dustup comes shortly after media reports revealed she falsely claimed to have completed a college degree in Slovenia. For Donald, the question about his wife's immigration history is loaded, given his hardline position on deporting illegal immigrants. Beyond her tweet, Melania and the greater Trump campaign have declined to answer further questions about her immigration story.
