>> Such a bad precedent.>> Donald Trump on Friday admitting he was wrong about having seen a video showing a secret transfer of money from the US to Iran. Saying the video he saw is the same one many of the rest of us viewed on several news networks, showing American prisoners being released in Geneva.
Trump tweeting, the plane I saw on television was the hostage plane in Geneva, Switzerland, not the plane carrying $400 million in cash going to Iran. His tweet comes two full days after insisting he saw a video showing a cash payment to Iran and claiming the tape was shot and released by Iran and given to the US.
>> And you know why the tape was given to us? Because they wanna embarrass our country.>> That sent the media scrambling to find such a video to no avail. Trump spokeswoman, Hope Hicks, later telling the Washington Post Trump was, in fact, referring to this same news footage first seen on Fox News.
But, with Trump still insisting a video existed showing a transfer of money. That phantom video never materializing. The controversy likely to follow Trump as he heads to Wisconsin and Iowa on Friday.
