>> Emergency services surround a church in Northern France, the site of a bloody attack. Armed with knives, two men took several hostages including a priest, nuns and worshippers. The priest was killed. Sources say the attackers cut his throat, another hostage was seriously wounded. Both armed men died as police moved in to end the assault at the church in the Normandy town of Saint-Etienne-du-Rouvray.
Authorities are trying to find out why the attackers targeted the church. France is already on a heightened sense of alert after a spate of recent violence. The prime minister branded the attack barbaric, saying it's a blow to Catholics and the whole nation.
