There have been officials who have told us off the record that there's a suspicion that your office is trying to downplay the Zika threat. And I just wanted to give you an opportunity to respond.>> If you look at what the Department of Health is putting out and our office is putting out, we're gonna put out accurate, timely information, it's very important.
I wanna make sure everybody in our state, and everybody that's gonna come here, you know exactly what's going on, it's very important.>> Kris Anderson, NBC News. I'm curious, within the Department of Health in Florida, multiple sources have told us that they're frustrated that you, who is not a doctor, are the single spokesman and they're unable to talk to reporters and can't talk to the public.
Have you muzzled them? Are you putting the economy of this state over the health of the citizens?>> So, here's the way, what we try to do every day. We want to make sure every citizen in this state knows what's going on. I want accurate information, I want timely information.
That's why if you look at the information that we put out on a daily basis, we're putting out information about exactly what's going on. Look at what we're doing around the city. Look at the education efforts we've done around the state. Our county health department is doing an outstanding job of educating exactly what's going on.
And that's what we've done, that's what our surgeon general has done.>>
