>> Bolt did his thing but, so did the American women's sprinters winning the 4 by 100 meter relay. Making Allyson Felix the first woman to collect 5 gold medals in athletics. With the second fastest time ever just behind their world record set in London, Team USA beat out Jamaica.
It wasn't an easy win, as they were nearly eliminated Thursday in their heat after Felix dropped the baton. But they appealed successfully, arguing she'd been impeded by a Brazilian runner. Team USA also defending their 2012 gold in Water polo steam rolling Italy 12 to 5. Following his team's loss, the Italian coach Fabio Conti said, quote they are from out of this universe.
It's the first time a team wins the gold back to back in this sport. Another first for another women's team. Germany taking their first ever Olympic gold in football beating Sweden two to one with a superior second half performance making them only the third team to win both Olympic gold and the women's world cup along with the US and Norway.
And a birthday celebrated in style for France's Estelle Mossely, who turned 24 and took the gold in lightweight boxing, beating out Yin Junhua of China, that after watching her boyfriend Tony Yoka earlier in the day set himself up for a shot at gold in Sunday's super heavyweight final, mostly saying quote, it would be magical for both of us to return home with gold.
My half of the deal has been done, now he has to do the other half. Talk about stepping up the pressure. Yoko will be fighting Britain's Joe Joyce, who is promising to perform a back flip and break out the dance moves if he wins, so watch for that Sunday.
