we work hard to win record setting rain in relentless storms in Houston this week killing at least eight people and displacing hundreds , flooding in Harris County is damaged over eleven hundred homes and later twelve hundred water rescues , the trouble began Monday when eighteen inches of rain fell in one day alone in a fast moving storm system expected to bring more rain to the Houston area Thursday and other parts of the region mandatory evacuations ordered for parts of the city of Wharton about sixty miles southwest of Houston due to flooding along the Colorado River forecasters predicted rain will let up after Thursday through Saturday bringing a much needed pause for America fourth largest city to dry out
