Islamic state controlled major oilfield in eastern Syria and earns more than one million dollars each day from selling that oil not for export but mainly in the areas of Iraq and Syria that it controls now the Pentagon wants to cut off the oil money in a new campaign dubbed tidal wave to US warplanes for the first time going after the billion oil convoys and other targets previously considered off limits in the dare al's or region , to provide an estimated two thirds of an Islamic state oil money moved to inflict lasting damage , since October the Pentagon said that it hit one hundred and seventy five oil related argued , in this week coalition forces hitting a convoy of more than a hundred fuel trucks being used to distribute that oil , in fact the Pentagon says going after targets like Mobil refinery has already cut the group's revenues by about two thirds , until now the Pentagon's been careful not to damage the equipment to extensively the idea being that it can be used to generate profits when the Islamic state in the eventually depleted what that actually means is that the extremist group has been able to make quick fixes and bring it back online now the Pentagon instantly heavier damage they want to knock at the Clinton out of action for at least a year
