a one year moratorium on all federal money going to Planned Parenthood the house of representatives leading to defund Planned Parenthood occurring year I mean Sullivan in Washington didn't the opening shot in the back and forth battle that's likely to dominate Washington for the next couple weeks it could lead to a government shutdown Republican leaders say they don't want that to happen but so far they're having little luck keeping their conservative rank and file in mine , Planned Parenthood is the largest provider of contraceptive services in the United States in the hotly denied profiting from the sale of these body parts still Republicans say this is it we're trying to line the guy couldn't get any money at all dinner right away and peered hood further taxpayer subsidies for the harvesting of baby body parts , Planned Parenthood provides exactly the type of intervention that we don't unintended pregnancies and the need for abortion in the first place how can this lead to a government shutdown , well if the house passes the budget that cut off funding for Planned Parenthood it's not likely to pass the Senate Mitch McConnell said he doesn't have the vote it's really remarkable that means Congress might not be able to agree on a budget or government funding runs out on September thirtieth leading to another government shutdown just like we had this time in twenty thirteen Republicans are going to have to figure out what to do to satisfy their conservative base while avoiding entrance after shutdown that can have negative consequences for them politically
