>> Israeli authorities are calling it an act of terror. This truck apparently deliberately driven into a popular Jerusalem promenade killing at least four people. Police say the driver targeted a group of military cadets getting off a bus. Some 15 were also wounded in this area near Jerusalem's Old City.
The perpetrator was shot dead by the surviving cadets and a security guard. The driver's been identified as a Palestinian man from East Jerusalem, which was annexed by Israel. Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said the attacker was a suspected supporter of Islamic State. Although authorities have not released information on his background.
Israel has seen a wave of street attacks by Palestinians in the last year and a half. Dozens of Israelis have been killed although the incidents have slowed. This was the deadliest in recent months. More than 230 Palestinians have been killed in violence is Israel, the West Bank, and Gaza Strip during that time.
Many have died in protests and clashes. But Israel says over a 150 of them were assailants, often targeting security forces. The dead, three women and one man, were all in their twenties.
