>> Texas threatening to block $3 million in Medicaid funding for Planned Parenthood, a move that could impact thousands of women in the state. Planned Parenthood will head to court to stop the measure saying these cuts could limit access to a range of cancer screenings, birth control and HIV testing for about 11,000 low-income Texans.
The reproductive healthcare group gets around $0.5 billion in federal money, mostly through Medicaid. President-elect Donald Trump has also promised to defund the group along with lawmakers in 14 other states in the wake of videos allegedly showing Planned Parenthood officials bargaining over fetal tissues from abortions. A grand jury in January cleared Planned Parenthood of any wrongdoing and indicted the anti-abortion activists after an investigation into the videos.
