> The opposition lawmakers, though, say she's destroying democracy and have vowed to stay put until at least Tuesday. They occupied the hall's podium on Friday in the heat of a budget vote, forcing the ruling Law and Justice party to move voting to a nearby hall. The opposition says that's illegal.

It's the first time since the restoration of democracy in 1989 that such a vote was held outside the main chamber. The protests turned violent in the early hours of Saturday, as police broke up a blockade trying to prevent government MPs from leaving. Since then, the demonstrations have remained peaceful.
