>> A police officer and court official were killed and 10 others were wounded in this attack outside a Turkish court house but authorities said the perpetrators plan something far worse. This video obtained by Reuters shows the moments suspected Carteret separatist detonated a car bomb in the coastal city of Ismere after being stopped at a checkpoint.
Police shot dead two of the attackers and are hunting a third, according to a source. They may have averted a much larger attack. Authorities say assault rifles, hand grenades and rocket-propelled grenades were found at the scene. Protestors demanding justice. The city was already on edge. Authorities conducted raids across earlier this week, in a hunt for suspects related to the New Years attack on an Istanbul night club, that left 39 dead.
That attack was claimed by Islamic State. At least 20 were arrested during those raids and in other cities, all said to be connected to the jihadists. But the New Year's gunman is still at large. Turkey's government says it's identified the gunman, although they have not released his name.
Earlier Thursday the deputy Prime Minister said the attack was likely an ethnic weiger. Islamic state is thought to have recruited small numbers of weigers. A Turkic minority found across Asia.
