Alibaba CEO Jack Ma touting plans to connect a million small US businesses with Chinese consumers. A move he says could create a million jobs in the US over the next five years.

The two men meeting as tension builds between China and Trump's incoming administration.

Which has proposed steep taxes on Chinese goods that could hurt Alibaba. The incoming president has also made Beijing unhappy over his approach to Taiwan. To that end, the meeting may have served another purpose. In the Trump Tower lobby Ma said the door was open to talk about US China ties.
