>> The final season of House of Cards is coming. And Netflix said Monday, it'll focus on actress Robin Wright's character as the first female President on the show. Netflix suspended production of its Blockbuster political drama and cut ties in November with the show's star Kevin Spacey. After accusations of sexual misconduct against the Oscar winning actor.
Reuters was unable to independently confirm the accusations. Spacey played the fictional US President, Frank Underwood, in the drama. Netflix says the sixth and final season will be shortened to eight episodes instead of the usual 13, and production will start in 2018. But the company isn't saying when it will air or how Spacey's character will be treated in the show.
House of Cards helped thrust Netflix into mainstream TV, and paved the way for binge watching. With other online video platforms also following with original TV series of their own. The show has been nominated for dozens of awards. And Wright has won a Golden Globe for her role as Claire Underwood.
