>> More details are emerging of the death of designer Kate Spade who took her own life Tuesday, sending shock waves through the fashion world. Her husband Andy Spade told the New York Times that, quote, there was no indication and no warning that the fashion legend would take her own life.
Contradicting what her sister told media outlets that her suicide was, quote, not unexpected, though he did add that the designer was battling depression and anxiety, and that they were leaving apart for the last ten months. The 55 year old was found Tuesday by her housekeeper at her home in Manhattan.
She left behind a note for her 13 year old daughter, Frances Beatrix, apparently telling her this was not her fault. Condolences continue to pour in on Wednesday, celebrities from Martha Stewart to Mindy Kaling memorializing the fashion icon who created a line of accessories including home goods and these bright and playful bags predominantly featuring her name.
