>> Search and rescue teams in Indonesia combed the seas for survivors after a boat capsized on Wednesday, killing 13 people, eight are still missing. Hospitals treated the injured, while families waited for news of their loved ones.>>
> I don't know what made the boat sink, there was no engine failure and no leaking, all was normal.
But the boat suddenly tilted and shank. We went with four people, but only three of us survived. One of my children is still missing.>> Authorities say the boat was battered by rough seas and winds of South Sulawesi. 22 people were pulled to safety. Ferry accidents are common in Indonesia with its vast archipelago of islands and rickety infrastructure.
Accidents spike this time every year when millions travel back to their hometowns to celebrate the Islamic holidays of Eid. Two more people were killed in a separate accident when the speedboat capsized near South Sumatra.
