>> Stan Wawrinka pulling off an upset at the US Open against the world's number one player, defending champion Novak Djokovic. The 31 year old from Switzerland winning in four sets Sunday to claim the third grand slam title of his career. Wawrinka was the third seed going into the US Open finals.
It was far from his first time facing off against Djokovic, whom he beat on his way to winning the 2014 Australian Open and last year's French Open. Djokovic has lost some of his usual luster in recent months. Earlier this summer he lost in the third round at Wimbledon, his earliest loss at a major since 2009.
And he went down in the first round at the Rio Olympics. On Saturday, top ranked Angelique Kerber beat Karolina Pliskova in the women's matchup.
