>> First blood to the Blues, as the Manchester derby ends in victory for City over United. 2-1 the final score, in a game dominated by the personalities of both team's managers. Billed as the one the world was watching, the first encounter between Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho in the Premier League.
First goal from Kevin De Bruyne, never appreciated under Mourinho at Chelsea. The Dutchman making the second as well for teammate Iheanacho. Veteran Zlatan Ibrahimovic reigning in their lead before the break but United frustrated despite the jitters from City's new keeper Claudio Bravo. Lucky to avoid a red card after tackling Rooney in the box and then proving not so safe with his feet, the reason he was bought to replace Joe Hart.
But Guardiola, delighted, defending his new number one. Mourinho, unhappy with the referee, insisting they should have had two penalties. Mourinho spent three years in Madrid upstaged by Pep's Barcelona. It's new club, new city, same old result.
