At a fundraiser in New York, the Presidential hopeful said Trump has given voice to hateful rhetoric from people who are racist, homophobic, sexist, xenophobic, or Islamophobic.>> To just be grossly generalistic, you can put half of Trump's supporters into what I call the basket of deplorables.
>> Some of those people, Clinton said, were irredeemable and did not represent America. It's not the first time Clinton's tied Trump to some of the more, well, racist supporters on the right. The candidate gave a speech weeks ago tying Trump to a radical fringe of the Republican Party, arguing his statements about immigration and religion empowers the rise of the so called alt right, which opposes multiculturalism and immigration.
Clinton's comments drawing rebukes from Trump's team. Campaign manager Kellyanne Conway on Twitter saying the Democratic nominee insulted millions of Americans, demanding the former Secretary of State apologize. Trump Saturday warning that Clinton's quote insulting critique would cost her at the polls. Clinton on Saturday backtracking slightly, explaining she regretted using the word half, but went on to list all the ways in which the Trump campaign is deplorable.
