>> It was my immaturity that caused that.>> Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte suspended for ten months for his role in a scandal that tarnished the Rio summer games and outraged host nation Brazil. The ban announced Thursday by USA Swimming and the US Olympic Committee, which suspended each of the three other swimmers involved, Jimmy Faigen, Gunnar Bentz, and Jack Conger, for four months.
Lochte had claimed he and his teammates had been robbed at gunpoint at a gas station after a late night of partying. Brazilian authorities claiming Lochte had lied, that there was no robbery and that the swimmers had damaged the bathroom. Lochte later admitting he over-exaggerated the story.>> I just want the people of Brazil to know how truly sorry I am.
>> And was dropped by four major sponsors as a result. He'll also be banned from next summer's World Championship meet in Budapest. But Lochte will still be in public view, if not in a swimsuit, then maybe a jumpsuit, as he'll appear in the new season of Dancing With the Stars starting Monday.
