>> Dubai appears to be on the right track to become the world's leader in cutting edge transportation. It's just revealed yet another futuristic innovation, what it's calling an autonomous pod. The Italian made electric pods can carry up to ten people. But at the moment it's a bit of a slow journey but the man behind the project says they have a top speed of 50 miles per hour.
>> The tests will continue until mid 2019. And we expect God willing that by the end of this year or the beginning of 2019, we will announce the plan to use these vehicles in Dubai.>> The United Arab Emirates, is planning to transform daily travel in Dubai, aiming for 25% self driving by 2030.
The city is also testing crewless two person flying taxis. A hyper loop which will take residents from Abu Dhabi to Dubai in just 12 minutes and hover bikes to be used by Dubai's police force. The Gulf State even has plans to send an unmanned probe to Mars by 2021.
That would be the Arab world's first mission to space.
