>> Traitor! Traitor!>> Two different former top Trump campaign officials both surfacing on Thursday in the ongoing probes into alleged Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential race. Former campaign chairman Paul Manafort was back in federal court in Virginia, where he pleaded not guilty to additional criminal charges ranging from bank fraud to filing false tax returns.
Special Prosecutor Robert Mueller has charged Manafort with dozens of counts related to his political work for Russian-backed Ukrainian politicians before he joined team Trump. Meanwhile back at the capital, Manafort's predecessor, ex-campaign manager Corey Lewandowski, took questions from the House Intelligence Committee, answering some and refusing others.>> We have requested that he be subpoenaed to return to answer certain sets of questions he was unwilling to answer today.
Witnesses don't get to pick and choose when it comes to very relevant testimony to our investigation. So we have requested a subpoena. Whether that will be granted by the majority or not, I cannot say.>> Democratic representative Adam Schiff also said on Thursday he wants to follow up with Erik Prince, a key associate of President Trump and brother to Education Secretary Betsy DeVos.
He told the House panel last November he had discussed US Russia relations during a January 2017 meeting in the Seychelles with a Russian business executive with ties to the Kremlin. The Washington Post on Wednesday reported that the Special Counsel has gathered evidence that the meeting was an attempt to set up a back channel between the incoming Trump administration and Moscow.
The president maintains there was no collusion between Russia and his campaign.>> It's a Democrat hoax.
