>> He's been the least popular French president in recent memory and now, Francois Hollande's the talk of the Twittersphere over the rather expensive upkeep of his receding hairline. His hairdressers, paid almost 10,000 Euros a month. Satirical newspaper Le Canard Echaine the first to report the 61-year-old's expensive habit paid for by the public purse.
The barber's abandoned his salon and is on-tap 24 hours a day. The salary confirmed by the government. But his team quick to point out Hollande's operational budget was cut by up to 20% compared to that of Sarkozy, his predecessor. French social media inundated with suggestions of hairstyles that might be more worthy of such a hefty price tag, and #Coiffeurgate unlikely to do the president any favors if he wants to continue in the top job come next year.
