>> It’s Donald Trump versus the notorious RBG, also known as Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. The billionaire unloading on Ginsburg after she slammed him in a Sunday interview with the New York Times. A late Tuesday tweet declaring Ginsburg was no longer mentally competent and should resign from the court.
This after Ginsburg told the Times Sunday, I can't imagine what this place would be. I can't imagine what the country would be with Donald Trump as our president. Florence Hurley says, the episode is not entirely out of character for the high court's 83 years old liberal lion.>> It's a little out of character for Ginsburg to be talking about a presidential candidate I guess.
But it's not out of character for her to be fairly outspoken. The thing about the Supreme Court Justices is that they are unelected and have life appointments on the Court. And there's not a whole lot that stops them from doing anything. There is the code of judicial conduct that applies to federal judges.
But Supreme Court justices actually aren't technically required to follow that. But usually they do, but they're not required to. So there's nothing really anyone can do to stop her doing it.>> Far from backing down, Ginsburg came back even harder at Trump Monday. Telling CNN, the New York real estate mogul is a faker who should release his tax returns if he wants to be president.
Leading to Trump's Twitter double down in response.
