W. repeatedly lied to investors consumers and regulators as part of issuing the bones , in a statement the German firm called the accusations legally and factually floor it says it did not have to inform investors about the diesel cheating as it then I had no idea the scandal would prove so costly , documents in a similar German case reveal V. W. forty missions issue could be fixed with a quick software patch it estimated the potential financial impact is around one hundred and seventy million dollars the real cost about two hundred times higher and counting
