hi everyone I have some news to share with all of you Alex Trebek the long time host of the TV game show jeopardy and now it's in a video message on Wednesday that he's been diagnosed with stage four pancreatic cancer now normally the prognosis for this is not very encouraging but I'm going to fight this and I'm going to keep working and with the love and support of my family and friends and with the help of your prayers also I plan to beat the low survival rate statistics for this disease the seventy eight year old native of Ontario Canada has hosted jeopardy since nineteen eighty four and earned his star on the Hollywood walk of fame in nineteen ninety nine slight medical problem Trebek delivered a similar video message in January of last year after he underwent surgery to remove a hematoma stemming from complications from hitting his head in a fall the prognosis is excellent well the news in Wednesday's video message was more grim true to form the veteran game show host concluded the message on a lighter note under the terms of my contract I have to host jeopardy for three more years so help me keep the faith and will win , we'll get it done , thank you
