>> And everything in between. Thanks to a solid economy and a low unemployment rate, shoppers are in a mood to buy. MasterCard spending pulse tallying up the early figures, predicting more than $23 billion spent on Black Friday alone which would surpass last year's total. Reuter's Melissa Farris is at the Westfield World Trade Center Mall in New York City.

A record $6.22 billion was spent online Black Friday with one day sales from smartphones cracking the $2 billion mark for the first time in history according to data compiled by Adobe Analytics. But some of those sales are going right back to traditional retailers who have stepped up their online game this year.
Like Target's drive up, consumers make the purchase using the Target app, drive by the store, and an employee brings out the order. No standing in line, no looking for a parking spot. Focus now turns to the hype around cyber Monday to further drive total holiday sales toward the $720 billion figure predicted by the National Retail Federation.
