>> Two US Navy Seals and two Marines have been charged with the murder of Army Staff Sergeant Logan Melgar, an Army Green Beret who was found dead while on assignment in Mali in 2017. Investigators say the four elite service members broke into Melgar's bedroom, tied him with duct tape and strangled him in a choke hold.
Among the charges they face, according to the Washington Post, felony murder, involuntary manslaughter, and obstruction of justice. The US has special operations forces in Mali conducting counter-terrorism missions and training local forces. Melgar, a thirty-four year old native of Texas, had previously served two tours of duty in Afghanistan.
The Post said the Navy has scheduled a preliminary hearing for the four accused on December 10th.
