Deutsche Bank on Monday denied a report that some of its staffers prevented multiple suspicious transactions from accounts controlled by president Donald Trump and his son in law Jared Kushner to be reported to government authorities the bank's denial comes after the New York times on Sunday reported that the transactions some of which involved trump's now defunct foundation set off alerts in a computer system designed to detect illicit activity those alerts lead staffers on the bank's compliance team to recommend so called suspicious activity reports be sent to an anti money laundering unit of the treasury department but that advice was rejected by George a bank executives the time says and the reports were never filed the transactions occurred in twenty sixteen and twenty seventeen according to the times which quotes one former Deutsche Bank staffer as saying she was fired after raising concerns about the bank's practices but in a statement Monday the bank said quote at no time was an investigator prevented from escalating activity identified as potentially suspicious Furthermore the suggestion that anyone was reassigned or fired in an effort to quash concerns relating to any client is categorically false still shares of Germany's largest bank fell to a new low on Monday a spokeswoman for the trump organization told Reuters the times story is quote absolute nonsense and trump himself blasted it in a series of tweets saying he had little need for banks because he had so much cash on hand he also denied that any of this cash came from Russia Deutsche Bank has lent billions of dollars to cushion or and trump companies it's been one of the few banks willing to lend extensively to trump over the past decade we are in search of the truth , the times report comes as congressional and New York state authorities are investigating the relationship between trump his family and Deutsche Bank the house of representatives has subpoenaed documents relating to suspicious activity from Deutsche Bank and two other financial institutions things that they're not entitled to trump has sued to block those subpoenas
