Tuesday against the latest wave of actions restricting abortions in several states abortion rights activists gathered in Minneapolis Francisco in Portland and they rallied at the US Supreme Court to condemn the laws passed by Republican dominated legislatures including a near total ban on abortion in Alabama even in cases of rape or incest I'm here today because these bands across that are happening across the state are reprehensible and a legal and they will harm women and many people that already faced a lot of difficulty accessing healthcare , twenty twenty democratic candidates including cures to Joe brand Cory Booker and Amy %HESITATION Bouchard also protested outside the High Court , in recent days Ohio and Georgia have banned abortions after six weeks of pregnancy or after a heart beat can be detected and Missouri passed a ban after eight weeks many of these restrictions are intended to draw all legal challenges which religious conservatives hope will lead the nation's top court to overturn the nineteen seventy three roe versus Wade decision that established a woman's right to terminate her pregnancy the Supreme Court now has a five four conservative majority following to judicial appointments by president trump the band had been championed by conservatives many of them Christian who say fetuses should have rights compatible to those of infants , president Donald Trump opposes abortion but considers the Alabama band too restrictive the president however is seizing on the abortion issue as a way to fire up his core supporters ahead of the twenty one election
