a day Tom on the trade front at least here in North America pleased to announce that we've just reached an agreement with Canada and Mexico on Friday US president Donald Trump announced a deal on terrorists well over a year after US tariffs on steel and aluminum from Canada and Mexico sparked a trade spat so that deal is going to be a fantastic deal for our country and hopefully Congress will approve the US MCA quickly and then the great farmers and manufacturers in steel players will make our economy even more successful than it already is the U. S. M. C. eight the U. S. Mexico Canada agreement is a proposed trade deal that would replace the twenty five year old north American free trade agreement several US lawmakers had said they wouldn't pass the new agreement while the metal tariffs and retaliatory measures aimed largely at U. S. farmers were in place Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau also said that the deal removes the biggest barrier for that deal around safeguards we've committed with this agreement to work with the Americans and the Mexicans to look at the global steel and aluminum market where we recognize significant challenges %HESITATION from other countries to make sure %HESITATION that we are protecting our workers are industries here in Canada to that end a monitoring system will be set up to make sure steel and aluminum from other countries that subsidize our dump the metals don't make it to the U. S. through Canada or Mexico the US has blamed Chinese over production of those medals for depressing global prices and driving many US companies out of business
