two people were injured when a charter helicopter crashed into the Hudson River in New York City on Wednesday emergency responders said as he was making its approach crash landed in the water box two hundred fifty feet from the helipad %HESITATION he was able to pull his flotation device I was able to get out of his helicopter stand on the pad a New York waterway ferry crew rescued the pilot NYPD assistant chief Steven Hughes said the thirty four year old pilot suffered an injury to his hand and a heliport worker slipped and hurt his wrist while he ran away as the helicopter came down just ridiculed at the west thirty street heliport and is used tempted to leave and reposition appoint land again he said the the %HESITATION the pilot Wilson he felt the plane going down the helicopter , witness Anthony Reyes Lee said this scene was chaotic we were very surprised his office and we see the helicopters are to spend a little bit out of control I thought maybe just you know across wins we thought maybe it was like you know a stone or something or just you know planned ordinated and the next thing you know we it's out of sight and you know there's a splash no passengers were aboard the helicopter when it crashed the NTSB is investigating
