this might be your next taxi German startup Lillian has conducted the first flight of its electric at Croft it can take off vertically and then fly about one hundred ninety miles its batteries power thirty six Electric jet engines that can swivel forwards to drive horizontal flight , why it emission free and easy to fly Lillian hopes it will revolutionize short haul air travel the company plans to own and operate its own fleet all their taxis electric flight is an increasingly halter area for innovation this is one concept from European aerospace giant Airbus it's also sponsoring an electric hair a series to help spur innovation numerous other projects are underway at start ups around the world next month's Paris air show will see the official unveiling of this the Alice business at Croft is being developed by Israeli start up deviation they aim to put the plane in service by twenty twenty two and site will fly up to six hundred and fifty miles on a single charge but all these projects face the same challenge skeptics say heavy batteries mean electric planes will never beats the power and range of conventional jets
