the US Federal Aviation Administration said Wednesday that it's identified a new potential risk for Boeing seven thirty seven Max and that the company must address it the for the grounded jet can return to service the FAA did not elaborate on the latest setback for Boeing which has been working to get its best selling airplanes back in the air following a worldwide grounding in March in the wake of two deadly crashes within five months Reuters David Shepherdson broke the story and sources filled him in on the details the new issue the FAA is found with Boeing's seven thirty seven Max %HESITATION , was discovered during a series of similar test last week to raise questions about Boeing's M. Cass anti stall software issue is why during the simulator %HESITATION tested took so long for the pilots to get out of a nose dive the situation that was caused by the activation of em Cass last month the FAA said that approval of the seven thirty seven MAX jets could happen as early as late June but the deadline has been pushed back several times already it's not clear to the FAA into Boeing yet whether this issue can be resolved through a software fix or is it a more serious micro processor problem that would require the replacement of the hardware that wouldn't just be the hardware replacement and that hardware would need to be re certified before bowing couldn't move ahead so the potential risk to Boeing here is that the %HESITATION return of the plane could be delayed significantly by the by this issue Boeing said it agreed with the FAA's decision and request and was working on a fix to address the problem the world's largest plane maker has been working on the upgrade for a stall prevention system since a lion air crash in Indonesia in October pilots were believed to have lost a tug of war with software that repeatedly pushed the nose down a second deadly crash in Ethiopia also involved that system together the crashes killed three hundred forty six people
