in a video clip that emerged on social media Wednesday the US women's soccer team co captain Megan Rapinoe was asked by a reporter if she was excited about a potential White House invite if the team were to win the World Cup in response Rapinoe said I'm not going to that thing White House that did not sit well with US president Donald Trump we took to Twitter to respond to rapid now saying I am a big fan of the American team and women's soccer but Meghan should win first before she talks finish the job , Megan should never disrespect our country the White House or our flag especially since so much has been done for her and the team but this is not the first time trump has had issues with sports teams weighing whether to visit the White House during his presidency after calling for stiff punishments for cabinet can other athletes who knelt or protester during the playing of the national anthem he withdrew an invitation to the Superbowl champion Philadelphia Eagles after many on the team disagree with his stance he also decided not to extend the White House invitation to either of last year's NBA finals the Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors at the Cavaliers lebron James and warriors Steph and curry said they would skip the visit anyway
