Europe is braced for a record breaking heat wave temperatures for cost to hit forty degrees Celsius across much of the continent for many it's yet another sign over global warming now some of the world's top investors all joining calls for action money managers responsible for thirty four trillion dollars in assets have signed a joint letter demanding change together they account for nearly haul off the world's invested capital signatories include legal and general investment management and cal pers California public employees retirement fund but the world's two biggest asset managers all missing from the list blackrock and van gold wouldn't give specific reasons for not signing now the letter comes days before a G. twenty summit in Japan the investors cold governments to work with them all action against climate change , they support the Paris agreement on global warming struck in twenty fifteen it calls on governments to keep average temperature rises to less than two degrees above pre industrial levels yet the world is on track for an average increase of at least three degrees by the end of the century in Europe right now it feels a whole lot hotter than that
