a former U. S. C. gynecologist has pleaded not guilty to sexually assaulting sixteen students under his care seventy two year old George tend offices twenty nine counts of sex crimes including eighteen counts of sexual assault and eleven counts of sexual battery the charges stem from his time at the university of southern California one of America's most prestigious private universities hundreds of other women have also come forward saying they've been subject to molestation lewd comments another sexually inappropriate behavior by Tyndall during medical examinations he appeared in court on Monday wares lawyer described the case as character assassination we have medical evidence and testimony that we are going to show that he followed all the rules Tindall insists he's innocent and that he conducted his exams by the book always with a chaperone in the room and always wearing gloves we just don't understand some of these allegations there's always been a witness earlier this month a federal court granted preliminary approval to a two hundred and fifteen million dollar settlement and the class action suit filed on behalf of Tyndale's patients his lawyer says he's agreed to the settlement Tyndall's been ordered to remain in custody in lieu of a nearly two point one million dollar bond and his medical license has been suspended if convicted of all charges he faces a prison term of up to fifty three years
