a second powerful earthquake to hit southern California in two days on Friday night my god this time it was bigger seven point one magnitude quake struck at eight twenty PM local time causing damage to buildings fires indigo again and to some injuries the key fell here is that this was a very large earthquake and %HESITATION we also know there's gonna be a series of aftershocks as a result of of the main quake the epicenter was the town of ridgecrest also jolted by a six point four magnitude quake on Thursday morning that experts say was just a foreshock to Friday's tremor locally officials of reported only minor injuries so far from rich quest although emergency services have been battling a significant number of fires mostly caused by ruptured gas lines Friday's quake was also felt over a wide area with shaking reported as far south as San Diego as far north as San Francisco and Reno and as far east as Phoenix Arizona in Los Angeles a hundred and twenty five miles away pools sloshed wildly and the ground crumbles it doesn't register straight away that until until every everything's moving in the chandelier was shaking and the and the kids were saying that's quite Friday's earthquake struck with eight times more force than Thursdays , cal tech seismologist Lucy Jones said it was unlikely the Strummer would trigger other earthquakes on different fault lines rockslide in the canyon with USGS warns there is a fifty percent chance or higher of another magnitude six quake from this fault in the days ahead
