Security cameras captured their last moments Saudi Arabia claims the critic was murdered in a rogue operation. The US and Turkey have a tumultuous relationship though. They back opposing the factions in Syria's civil war and President Trump has placed sanctions on the NATO allay that if helped drive its currency into crisis mode.

Saudi Arabia's public prosecutor will visit Istanbul on Sunday. Turkey's President Tayyip Erdoğan, is demanding that Saudi reveal the location of Khashoggi's body and who ordered the killing. Khashoggi had gone to the consulate to get marriage documentation. Meanwhile French president Emmanuel Macron is dismissing calls from several other European countries to stop arms deals with Saudi Arabia over Khashoggi's death.

Several EU countries and the US export arms to Saudi which are then used in Yemen's Civil War. Germany and Austria are the latest countries to discuss stopping that practice. Macron though says Khashoggi's death and the Yemen War are separate issues and shouldn't be conflated by scaremongering.
