Before the tables are set it's a last minute chance to get a bargain. Traditionally on Christmas Eve London Smithfield Meat Markets have held an auction. And according to organizers it's a tradition that's been going for 150 years.

Market Chairman Greg Lawrence has been running it for 40 years. He says there's over 16 tons of premium meat for sale, all at a discount.>> There beside me 50, 60% are buying at this auction compared if they're gonna buy out in supermarkets and other butcher shop. And it's all quality, quality product, all quality product.
